“Chhatrabandhu” has been actively exerting itself for many years now for the uplift of the students and the propagation of Ramayana in the government schools in West Delhi. Apart from academic activities, this year essay-writing, suryanamaskar and painting competitions were also organised. In addition, a total of 201 students were also honoured with scholarships. We are also constantly endeavouring to hone and award the talent of children. Our area of operation includes Delhi Cant., Janakpuri, Uttam Nagar, Matiyala, Najafgarh village, Madipur, Ambika Vihar and Piragarhi. The pratibha schools of Paschim Vihar, Hari Nagar and Dwarka too fall in our zone of operation. I request the students and their teachers to introduce us to talented children (of the state-government run schools). We would be indebted to you for this.
With the grace of Lord Shri Raghvendra Sarkar and the teachers, and the support extended by you all, our work is proceeding efficiently. We are labouring for the all-round development of talented children, but this is merely the beginning. There still remains a lot to be accomplished, and that can be done only with your support.
We are in contact with 25 schools, and in four of these institutions the idols of Mother Saraswati were instated this year. In all 11such idols have been donated and installed by us.
In the programs, apart from the principals and teachers, we also received the blessings and guidance of deputy-director of education and other officials of the education department – we are greatly beholden to all. A brief pictorial account of it all is presented in this commemorative volume. Chhatrabandhu organised other programs as well, of which a few selected pictures are exhibited here. Ten students of the gurukul of the Vedic society were also awarded scholarships. Throughout the year, the representatives of Chhatrabandhu assist at this gurukul in a variety of ways and Acharya Kirtikant looks after the entire administration here. His essay on Vedic education is presented here. We have also included a fascinating picture of the ascetics. Indian culture is inspired by the Vedas and it is important to have such Vedic schools in different regions of the country.
As a part of our other endeavour, we successfully concluded a fourth trip to the distant Northeastern state of Meghalaya under the blessings of Dr. Ramakant Shukl and ashirwad of Shri Bhushan Lal Parasherji in May-June 2010. Dr. Vishwamitra Batra of Kalyan ashram was gifted a Maruti van to enable him to render the necessary services promptly and more efficiently. In addition, buildings have been constructed in thirteen villages for modest-sized schools. We also showcase a small pictorial exhibit of the week-long tour of Meghalaya undertaken by the fourteen representatives of Chhatrabandhu. Our companions in Shillong – Shri Omprakash Munddha, Shri Radheshyam Bajoria, Shri O.P Aggarwal, Shri Vimal Bajaj, Shrimati Sangeeta Sharma, Shrimati Kamla Munddha, Shri Kunjbihari Ajmeraji, and the President of Sengkhasi Shri Rinemo Sungoh – deserve unstinted praise. The marvellous hospitality, lodging and food provided by them are beyond imagination and recounting. You must peruse this commemorative volume to see its pictorial narrative. Dr. Vishwamitra Batra has been serving in Meghalaya for the last twenty-seven years, and his notable essays are most certainly worth reading.
I wish to thank respected Shri Vijay Kohli Ji and our student Shri Gaurav Tiwari for their contribution in preparing the framework of our magazine SWAYAMPRABHA. Not only have they shaped the magazine, they have also perfected it. The entire enterprise would have been inadequate without their contribution, though undoubtedly, my ignorance and engagements have lead to many deficiencies. The guidance of our president, Shri R A Aggarwal, is at all times readily available to us. I am deeply indebted to Colonel Virendra Sahni, Mr. Nirvanji (Officer: Income-Tax), Shri Girish Kohli (C.A), Shri Sandeep Arya – he is always extremely encouraging in the production of magazine. This year we were particularly assisted by Shri Nihal Chand Sharma whom we can never thank enough.
The blessings, favour and constant activee support of Shree Dr. Ramakant Shukla and mataji is indescribable – you all do feel this in all programmes….We unstintingly venerate you and Pandit P P Trilokmohanji and Pt. Durga Prasad Ji Shashtri and draw inspiration for all our future programmes.
Finally, we dedicate God’s article to God and wish for a bright future for Chhatrabandhu – the prospective nation builder.n Dinesh Chaturvedi.

MESSAGE
It is greatly pleasing to hear that “Chhatrabandhu” organisation is active and is incessantly working towards building the lives of the meritorious students. The leaders and guides of the organisation imbued with a sense of duty towards their nation and society are managing time out of their hectic business schedule for this true social service. The exalted feeling of service to the mankind is the only genuine prayer to god. On the initiative of “Chhatrabandhu” this year, in addition to essay, suryanamaskar and painting competitions, 200 students were felicitated with scholarships.
Along with it, I congratulate you on encouraging social work in the Far East state of Meghalaya, and for taking care of the arrangements for the consecration ceremony of the statue of Saraswati in four schools in Delhi. I am myself a witness to the annual function last year in which 25 students were felicitated with copies of Ramcharitmanas and substantial cash. You gave appreciably adequate encouragement to students by giving eight special awards.
It also adds to pleasure to know that like the previous year this year too the organisation is publishing its illustrated souvenir “Swayamprabha”. The presence of the icon of Hindu pride Dr. Vishwamitra Batra on this auspicious occasion will infuse new energy into nation, society and the students so that the nation and society, moving on the path of tradition and developing in all the directions, will give meaning to human existence.
In conclusion, I offer my heartfelt prayer to the lotus feet of Lord Sri Raghunathji for the success of the benevolent endeavours of “Chatrabandhu”. I have full confidence that other students will also embrace this hallowed path and contribute to the development of the society and nation.
Rest, the grace of Almighty Lord Sri Ram.
With propitious blessings,
Trilok Mohan.
